Vision Applications

This vision application system reads the part number stamped on the piston crown prior to assembly, to check that the correct piston is fitted to the engine.

Low angle red LED ring light is used to highlight the stamped numbers and simplify character recognition. 

The features of the system are:

• Robust Cognex In-Sight vision sensor
• Simple product select interface using serial interface to machine PLC
• Simple spreadsheet configuration easily be modified by technical staff
